Lichens 10x, Computational Micro Photography

A collection of realistic but traditionally impossible images.

These high-magnification composite photographs are created by combining hundreds of individual images using computer-aided focus stacking and panorama stitching. The result is a dramatic increase in depth of field and resolution, removing the scale cues normally apparent in micro photography, and allowing for large high-quality prints .
